Calvin Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Down Rose-Hulman

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin women's swimming & diving team defeated Rose-Hulman 243-41 in a non-conference meet on Saturday afternoon at Venema Aquatic Center. 

Calvin had a large handful of first place performances. 

Winning the 200-Yard Medley Relay was the team of Hannah Chao, Anna Kutschke, Emily Gunderson, and Anna Serino with a time of 1:50.73.

Chao also won the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.48 and Serino won the 200-Yard back with a 2:12.12. 

Kendall Murphy won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:03.41. She later went on to win the 500 freestyle in 5:20.54.

In the 200 free, Valerie Edewaard edged Chao by .07 hitting the wall with a time of 1:58.42. Edewaard also won the 100 fly with a 1:00.95. 

Winning the 100 backstroke was Emily Gunderson who recorded a time of 1:02.87. 

For the 100 breaststroke, Samantha Sonday finished first with a 1:10.84. 

Grace Delcompare won the 200 fly with a time of 2:16.95. She also won the 400 IM with a 4:56.02.

In the 50 free, Alyssa Oezer claimed first place with a 24.86.

Winning the one meter diving was Joselyn Smith with a score of 292.15. Smith also won the three meter diving competition, scoring a 296.60.

Kylie Shaw won the 200 breast recording a time of 2:35.65. 

Finishing out the meet winning the 200 free was the team of Serino, Anna Weber, Oezer and Gunderson. 

The Knights return to action next Saturday as the team roster will split up. One half will head to Olivet for a dual meet while the other half will travel to the University of Chicago for a triangular with Chicago and DePauw.
