Gabby Timmer Named to All-MIAA First Team in Women's Basketball

Calvin College freshman Gabby Timmer has been named to the All-MIAA First Team in women's basketball.

A native of Caledonia and a graduate of South Christian High School, Timmer is one of six individuals on the all-conference first team list.

Timmer was the MIAA scoring champion this season, averaging 18.5 points a game. She also led the MIAA in rebounds per game (10.3) and was third in the league in field goal percentage (.534) and fifth in total blocks (24).

During the conference season, she tallied five double-doubles. In a 50-38 loss to Hope in January, she just missed a triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocked shots. In a 74-69 win over Albion earlier this month, she scored 25 points and ripped down a career-high 20 rebounds. In a 75-61 win over Kalamazoo two weeks ago, she scored a career-high 31 points to go with 17 rebounds.

Timmer was a three-time MIAA Player of the Week during the season.

Timmer joins her older sister Anna (Timmer) Drews as an all-conference selection with the Calvin women's basketball program with Anna receiving first team honors in 2016 and 2017.
