UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Calvin men's track and field team had Andrew Huston and Christopher Visser participate in the Saginaw Valley State Jet's Pizza on Friday afternoon. The Knights competed in a field filled with NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NAIA schools.
"I thought that the guys did well today," said head coach Bret Otte. "They went up against some really good competition today and we look to build off this performance."
Sophomore Andrew Huston (Elgin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) placed seventh in the heptathlon with 548 points. In eighth place was sophomore Christopher Visser (Fremont, Mich./Western Michigan Christian) with 500 points.
In the long jump, Visser placed eighth at 5.27 meters. In ninth place was Huston at 4.96 meters.
The shot put saw Visser place seventh with a throw of 10.84 meters. Huston placed ninth at 8.51 meters.
Andrew Huston finished in eighth place at the high jump at 1.53 meters.
The Knights return to action on Saturday at the Grand Valley Mike Lints Alumni Meet.
