Calvin's Men Soccer Set to Host University of Chicago

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin men's soccer team will host the University of Chicago Saturday at 2:30 p.m. 

The Teams: The Maroons come into the competition 6-0-1 on season. The Knights bring a 7-0-0 record into the match. 

The Coaches: Mike Babst is in his sixth year with the Maroons and has an overall coaching record is 75-20-12.He graduated from Boston College with a bachelor's degree in economics and marketing in 1999 after a three-year career as a goalkeeper for the Eagles. Last season was the best in program history as the Maroons reached the NCAA semifinals for the second-time ever.

Ryan Souders is in his seventh season with the Knights. Souders is a 2007 graduate of Wheaton College where he played four-years as a goalkeeper for the men's soccer team. During the past six years, Souders has led the Knights to five NCAA tournament appearances. Souders has totaled a record of 118-16-7 as head coach of the Knights.

The Players: For the Maroons, Matthew Koh leads the Maroon with seven goals on the season.

For the Knights, senior Jacob Witte leads the team seven goals on the season after having the game winning goal against Wittenberg yesterday. Junior Hunter Olson has posted five goals. 

Series History: This will be the second time the Maroons and the Knights face off. The Maroons defeated the Knights last season.
