Calvin Men's Lacrosse Set to Host Hanover

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin men's Lacrosse team will host Hanover College on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. for a non-conference matchup. 

The Teams: The Panthers are 1-1 overall. The Knights also bring an 1-1 overall record into the competition. 

The Coaches: Jeff Roberts is in his first year as the head coach of the Hanover men's Lacrosse program. Roberts comes to the College after a multi-year stint as the head lacrosse coach at Coppell High School near Dallas, Texas. Roberts does have head coaching experience at the collegiate level as well, guiding Concordia University-Wisconsin from 2009-2013.A native of Upstate New York, Roberts is a 1994 graduate of Springfield College (Mass.), where he was a member of the lacrosse program. He also recently received his master's degree in athletic administration and coaching from Concordia University-Irvine (Calif.). 

Dave Hoger is in his third year as the head coach of the Calvin men's Lacrosse program. Prior to Calvin, Hoger served as the defensive coordinator for the Frostburg State University (Md.) men's lacrosse team. Hoger graduated from Eastern University (Pa.)with a degree in mathematics and was a four­-year goalie for the Eastern men's lacrosse team. As a senior in 2012, he served as a team captain and led the Eagles to their first­-ever conference championship and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance.

The Players: For the Panthers, Joseph DeLeo leads the team with even goals, one assist and a 92.8 shots-on-goal percentage. 

For the Knights, Max Foster leads the team with three goals, one assist and a 36.8 shots-on-goal percentage.
