  • Calvin Women's Volleyball Tops Johnson & Wales in NCAA Quarterfinals

    The Calvin women’s volleyball team handed Johnson & Wales University its first loss of the season, sweeping the Wildcats 25-21, 25-19, 26-24 in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Tournament. With the win, the Knights advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament Semifinals where they will face top-seeded Wittenberg University.

  • Anna Kamp Named AVCA Division III Player of the Year

    Anna Kamp was named the AVCA Division III National Player of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The award was announced on Wednesday evening at a pre-national championship banquet at the Prince Conference Center on the campus of Calvin College.
  • Volleyball Trio Earns AVCA All-America Accolades

    Three members of the Calvin volleyball team received AVCA Division III All-America honors on Tuesday. Junior Anna Kamp was named to the AVCA Division III All-America first team. Senior Jenna Lodewyk and sophomore Sarah DeVries were named to the second team.

  • No. 2 Volleyball Cans No. 17 Carthage in NCAA Regional Finals

    For the third time in four seasons, the Calvin volleyball team met the Lady Reds of Carthage College in the NCAA Division III Regional Finals. The No. 2 ranked Knights defeated No. 17 Carthage, 25-16, 25-17, 21-25, 19-25, 15-9. Calvin advances to the NCAA quarterfinals for the second-straight year. Calvin improves to 29-3 on the year and Carthage finishes at 27-9.
  • Volleyball Quarterfinals Bracket Released, Calvin Hosts Johnson & Wales

    The NCAA released the quarterfinal parings on Sunday evening for the Thursday matches. Calvin is the No. 5 seed in the bracket and will play Johnson & Wales from Rhode Island. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.
  • No. 2 Volleyball Bounces Top Seeded Big Blue in NCAA Second Round

    The No. 2 ranked Calvin volleyball team advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament Third Round with a 3-0 victory over No. 11 Millikin on Friday. Calvin moves to 28-3 on the year and the Big Blue finish at 29-8. The No. 5 seed in the Bloomington, Illinois Bracket, Calvin defeated the No. 1 seed Big Blue of Millikin, 25-17, 25-23, 25-17. With the victory, Calvin advances to the regional final round for the eighth-straight year.
  • Volleyball Lands Four All-Region Selections

    The AVCA named four Calvin volleyball players to the all-region teams on Friday. Named to the AVCA Great Lakes All-Region Team was senior Jenna Lodewyk, junior Anna Kamp and sophomore Sarah DeVries. On the AVCA Great Lakes Honorable Mention All-Region was junior Keilahna Castillo.
  • Late Comeback Propels No. 2 Volleyball over No. 13 WashU in NCAA Tournament

    The No. 2 ranked Calvin volleyball team met the No. 13 ranked Bears of Washington University in St. Louis in a rematch of the 2016 national championship match in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday afternoon Bloomington, Illinois.
  • Volleyball Opens NCAA Tournament in NCAA Title Rematch

    Calvin will travel to Bloomington, Illinois for the  NCAA Division III volleyball regional tournament from Nov. 9-11. The Knights will face Washington University in St. Louis in the first round. The two teams met in the NCAA Championship match in 2016. The winner of the region will advance to the quarterfinal round at Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  The Knights are making their 27th NCAA Tournament appearance and the 14th-straight appearance with coach Warners.

    Coming off a MIAA Tournament title, the Calvin volleyball team swept the final MIAA volleyball weekly honors. Sarah DeVries was named the MIAA Player of the Week and Emily Blankespoor claimed the Specialty Player of the Week honor.

    The No. 3 ranked Calvin women’s volleyball team defeated rival Hope College 3-0 to claim its thirteenth MIAA Tournament championship. With the win, the Knights remain undefeated in MIAA play on the season and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
  • Volleyball Lands Five All-MIAA Selections

    For the eighth-straight year, a Calvin volleyball player was named the MIAA volleyball MVP. The Knights recorded five All-MIAA selections, including three on the first team. The Knights finished 16-0 for an MIAA record third-straight season.

    The No. 4 ranked Calvin volleyball team claimed a 3-0 victory over Trine on Saturday afternoon to complete the MIAA regular season undefeated. The Knights will head into postseason play at 24-3 overall and a perfect 16-0 MIAA record.

    The No. 4 ranked Calvin volleyball team improved to 23-3 on the year and 15-0 in MIAA play with a 3-0 victory at Albion on Friday night. The Knights defeated the Britons, 25-19, 25-9, 25-23. Albion falls to 14-13 and 8-7 in MIAA action.

    The No. 4 ranked Calvin volleyball team defended home court and claimed a 3-0 victory over archrival Hope College on Tuesday evening.
  • No. 4 Volleyball Clinches a Share of MIAA Crown at Kalamazoo

    On Friday evening, the No. 4 ranked Calvin volleyball team hit the road to face the Hornets of Kalamazoo College. The Knights left Kalamazoo with a 25-11, 25-17, 25-18 victory. With this victory, the Knights clinch a share of the MIAA regular season crown. Calvin has won at least a share of the last seven MIAA regular season titles.
  • No. 4 Volleyball Sinks Alma, 3-0

    The No. 4 ranked Calvin volleyball team stayed perfect in MIAA with a 3-0 victory over Alma on Tuesday. The Knights topped the Scots, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22. The victory moves Calvin to 20-3 and 12-0 in MIAA play. With Hope falling to Saint Mary’s, Calvin can clinch the MIAA title with one victory or a Hope loss.
  • Van Laare and Lodewyk Sweep MIAA Weekly Honors

    Coming off a 5-0 week, the Calvin volleyball team swept the MIAA volleyball weekly honors. Tessa Van Laare was named the MIAA Player of the Week and Jenna Lodewyk claimed the Specialty Player of the Week honor.
  • No. 6 Volleyball Finishes Midwest Undefeated

    The No. 6 ranked Calvin volleyball team posted a 4-0 record at the Midwest Invitational this weekend. On Saturday, the Knights defeated Elmhurst 3-0 and Ithaca 3-1. The Maroon and Gold are now 19-3 on the year. Senior Jenna Lodewyk and junior Anna Kamp were named to the all-tournament team.
  • No. 6 Volleyball Tops Kean and No. 14 Millikin at Midwest
    October 13, 2017
    The No. 6 Calvin volleyball team hosted Kean and No. 14 Millikin on Friday at the Midwest Invitational. The Knights started the day with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-15 victory over Kean. The Knights closed the night with a rematch of the 2016 NCAA Regional championship with No. 14 Millikin. The Knights came away on top again, this time in a five-set thriller, 25-21, 23-25, 24-26, 25-16, 15-9. No. 6 Calvin improves to 17-3, with Millikin falling to 18-6 and Kean to 19-7.
  • No. 6 Volleyball Cruises at Saint Mary’s

    The No. 6 ranked Knights stayed perfect in the MIAA volleyball standings with a 3-0 victory at Saint Mary’s on Wednesday evening. The Calvin volleyball team moved to 15-3 on the year and 11-0 in the MIAA. The Belles are now 10-8 and 6-5 in MIAA action. The Knights swept Saint Mary’s 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

    The No. 6 ranked Calvin volleyball team stayed perfect in MIAA play with a 3-0 victory over Adrian on Saturday afternoon. The Knights topped Adrian, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19, to move to 14-3 and 10-0 in the MIAA. Adrian falls to 4-14 and 4-6 in the MIAA.
