Calvin Women's Lacrosse Falls to Farmingdale State

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Calvin dropped a tight 15-12 decision to Farmingdale State Wednesday evening.

The Knights (4-2) led 7-6 at halftime but Farmingdale State closed out the game on an 8-2 run to pull away for the narrow win.

The game was a physical affair as 11 yellow cards were issued between the two teams with Farmingdale State receiving eight and Calvin three.

Senior Genevieve Schneeeman (Farmington, Mich./Farmington HS) led the Calvin offensive attack with five goals. Junior Allyson Mesman (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) and freshman Megan Gilbert (Lansing, Mich./Holt HS) added two goals apiece.

Senior Lauryn Slachter (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) continued her strong play with three goals in the contest.

Senior Ellis Chalfant (St. Louis, Mo./Mary Institute and Country Day School) had seven saves for Calvin in goal.

The Knights face Western New England on Saturday in Florida in a game scheduled for 10 a.m.
