Women's Golf in Third Through Day One of Carthage College Florida Invitational

CHAMPIONS GATE, Fla. - After one day of competition, the Calvin women's golf team is in third place at the Carthage College Florida Invitational.

Calvin posted a team score of 366 strokes on Tuesday. Carthage leads the tournament at 313 while Hope is second at 327.

Sophomore Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian HS) tied for sixth individually with a score of 83. Freshman Jessica Zylstra (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) had a standout afternoon, ripping off a round of 89 that was good for a tie for ninth place.

Sophomore Grace Bolt (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) had a 93. Senior Katherine Ryan (Haslett, Mich./Haslett HS) had a 98. Sophomore Katy Hamilton (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS) carded a score of 104 while senior Amira Bousaab (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) had a 109.

Calvin is back on action on Wednesday when it completes competition at the 36-hole tournament.
