Women’s Golf Takes Fourth at DIII Railside Classic

BYRON CENTER, Mich. – The Calvin women's golf team recorded a fourth-place finished at the Division III Railside Classic on Saturday. The Knights shot a combined round of 356 to take fourth place. Hope College took first place at 324 strokes.

"I am pleased with our performance today," said head coach Jerry Bergsma. "We had some good rounds today."

Junior Emilee McCusker (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) shot the lowest round for Calvin at 86 to finish tied for 11th place.

Sophomore Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian) finished in 14th place at 88 strokes.

Sophomore Grace Bolt (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and senior Amira Bousaab finished tied for 16th place at 91 strokes.

Tied for 21st place was freshman Jessica Zylstra (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian).

Playing unattached, senior Katherine Ryan (Haslett, Mich./Haslett) shot a round of 99 and junior Gen Best (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) finished with 105 strokes.

The Knights return to action on Monday for the first MIAA Jamboree of the year at Albion.
