Calvin Men's Track and Field Team Competes at GVSU Mike Lints Invitational

A small group of Calvin men's track and field athletes produced a set of solid performances at the Mike Lints Invitational hosted by Grand Valley State University Saturday afternoon.

Notable Performances included:

*Sophomore Lee Barents (Redlands, Ca./Arrowhead Christian Academy) posting a mark of 20-7 in the long jump.

*Senior Jeiel Burrell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) going 6-2 in the high jump.

*Sophomore James Jeninga (Brookfield, Wisc./Milwaukee Lutheran HS) running 51.57 in the 400 meters.

*Senior Robbie Holhman (Naperville, Il./Neuqua Valley HS) running 15:32.15 in the 5,000 meters.

*Junior Andrew Philipose (Mount Prospect, Il./John Hersey HS) running 8:37.00 and junior Mark DeJong (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) running 8:50.73 in the 3,000 meters.

*Freshman Jonathan Walt (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) vaulting 14-1 3/4 in the pole vault.

*Freshman Jayvin Wolf (Middleton, Mich./Fulton HS) throwing 40-3 1/2 in the shot put and 40-8 3/4 in the weight throw.

With the start of second semester on Monday, Calvin's full team will now prepare to compete at the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Track and Field Classic next Friday at Aquinas College.
