Calvin Men's Tennis Rides Over Ripon To Remain Unbeaten

RIPON, Wisc. - The Calvin men's tennis team opened a weekend swing through Wisconsin with a 9-0 win at Ripon College Friday evening. The Knights improve to 5-0 on the season.

Calvin swept through the three doubles flights as freshman Rodrigo Castellanos Vaca Guzman (Tarija, Bolivia/Felipe Palazon) and junior David Brown (Lake Zurich, Il./Lake Zurich HS) won at No. 1 doubles; senior Anthony Vroon (Grand Rapids Mich./South Christian HS) and sophomore Jason Wolters (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) won at No. 2 doubles and senior Jared Doezema (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and sophomore Charlie Fahr (Milwaukee, Wisc./Toas East HS) won at No. 3 doubles.

Vaca Guzman then won at No. 1 singles while senior Taylor Asfour (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) rolled to a win at No. 2 singles. Brown won at No. 3 singles and Wolters at No. 4 singles.

Doezema then won a straight sets match at No. 5 singles as did Fahr at No. 6 singles.

Calvin will take on Lakeland College and Wisconsin-Lutheran on Saturday.
