Men’s Swimming & diving Competes at NCAA Championships

SHENENDOAH, Texas – The Calvin men's swimming & diving team competed at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday. The Knights sit in 28th place with 12 points. Emory is in first place with 244 points.

The Knights started the day with a 20th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. The team of sophomore Jared Britton (Falls Church, Va./George Mason), sophomore Ben Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant), senior Eli Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant) and senior Brett Stoughton (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) finished at 1:23.13.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Jared Britton tallied a 24th-place finish at 49.58. Senior Brett Stoughton finished in 26th place at 49.64.

Calvin finished in 19th place in the 400-yard medley relay. The team on Ben Holstege, Eli Holstege, Brett Stoughton and Jared Britton clocked in at 3:21.51.

Junior Michael Moentmann (Solon, Ohio/Solon) placed 19th on the 1-meter boards on Thursday at 402.70 points.

Calvin returns to the pool on Friday for the third day of the four-day NCAA Championships.
