Men’s Swimming Starts Third at Calvin Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin men's swimming & diving team recorded some fast times at the Calvin Invite on Thursday night. The Knights are currently in third place with 130 points, behind Grand Valley and Northern Michigan.

Freshman Brian Goins recorded the fastest Calvin time in the 1650-yard freestyle at 17:00.04 in 10th place. Brian dropped more than 49 seconds off of his best time at Calvin. Freshman Ian Hazlett finished in 15th place at 17:27.45.

Calvin finished in fourth place and had the fastest NCAA Division III time in the 800-yard freestyle relay on Thursday. The team of sophomore Nathan Olberding, senior Brett Stoughton, junior Max DeYoung and freshman Tim Randall clocked in a time of 6:56.14.

The Knights return to action on Friday for the second day of the three-day Calvin Invite.
