GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin College senior Bobby McCaw has been named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer while sophomore Chris Morrish has been named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week.
A native of Dubuque, Iowa, McCaw is receiving the honor for the seventh time in his Calvin career. A graduate of Hempstead High School, McCaw scored three goals last week as the Knights claimed two MIAA Tournament victories over Hope and Adrian. McCaw has 19 goals, 11 assists and 49 points on the season.
A first-year starter in goal for the Calvin men's soccer team, Morrish backstopped the Knights to two victories last week. In the win over Hope, he picked up four saves to shutout the Dutchmen. He then added two saves in Saturday's MIAA Tournament Championship win over Adrian. A native of Bradenton, Florida, Morrish has a season goals-against-average of 0.46 including eight shutouts.
