Calvin Men's Lacrosse Extends Win Streak With 13-2 Victory Over Northland College
ASHLAND, Wisc. - Calvin picked up its second straight victory, defeating host Northland College 13-2 Saturday afternoon.

The victory completes a successful weekend swing through Wisconsin for the Knights as it came on the heels of an 8-7 win at Marian College Thursday afternoon.
 
Calvin (2-4) led 8-0 at halftime and added two goals in the third quarter and three more in the fourth to seal the win.
 
Freshman attacker Joe Son (Aldie, Va./John Champe HS) had a huge afternoon with three goals and four assists.
 
Freshman Jacob Gandara (Santa Clarita, Ca./West Ranch HS) had three goals and four ground balls.
 
Junior Max Foster (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice HS) had three goals while freshman Nathan Jindra (South Bend, Ind./John Adams HS) had two goals. 
 
Senior Michael Winkler (La Quinta, Ca./Palm Desert HS) and freshman Luke VanderKooy all had one goal with Winkler chalking up an assist. 
 
Sophomore Griffin Sparling (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) had four assists on the afternoon while freshman Noah Boelens (Round Lake, Il./Grayslake Central HS) also had an assist.
 
Bontreger and senior Ethan Brown (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth HS) had five ground balls apiece. Foster and senior Derek VanderBrug (Woburn, Mass./Lexington Christian Academy) had four ground balls each.
 
Freshman Mitchell Wong (Schaumburg, Il./Schaumburg HS) saw the lion's share of duty in goal, making 12 saves on 14 shots. Sophomore Mitchell Caldwell (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing HS) also saw time in goal for the Knights.
 
"It was a great way to end the weekend trip," said Calvin men's lacrosse coach Dave Hoger. "Some of our young guys took a huge step forward this weekend and grew a lot. The offense is really starting to gel and we are learning how to play with one another. We're excited for practice this coming week to continue the process as we get ready for spring break."
 
Calvin returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to take on Delaware Valley University in a match set to begin at 1 p.m.
