Calvin Men's Golf in Fifth Place Through Day One of O.C. Lou Collins Memorial Tournament
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - The Calvin men's golf team is in fifth place through day one of the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament.  
Friday's competition was held at the Bedford Valley Country Club.  The Knights posted a team score of 305 strokes. Kalamazoo had the top score on the afternoon at 290 followed by Hope at 291.
Calvin's top finisher on Friday was sophomore John Van Noord (Troy/Troy Athens HS) with a 72 that has him tied for fourth place individually. Junior Ben VanScoyk (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) carded a score of 75 while sophomore Sam Kuiper (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) had a 78, junior Matthew Lumbantoruan (Jakarta, Indonesia/Morningstar Academy) and sophomore Mitchell Knoor (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) had rounds of 80.

Nick Ludka of Kalamazoo , Andrew Goble of Hope and Eric Attard of Madonna had round of 71 on Friday to lead the way.

Competition continues on Saturday morning at the Bedford Valley Country Club.
