Softball Splits Spring Break FinaleThe Calvin softball team finished its spring break portion of its schedule on Friday afternoon. The Knights were edged by Buffalo State 6-5 and rebounded to finish the trip with a 2-1 victory over New Paltz State. Calvin went 6-4 in Florida and improves to 9-5 on the season.
Softball Downs Union and Colby on Spring BreakThe Calvin softball team improved to 5-3 on spring break and 8-4 on the year with a pair of victories on Thursday in Florida. The Knights started the day downing the Dutchwomen of Union 5-1 and edged Colby in the final game of the day 9-8.
Women’s Golf Finishes Third at Carthage Central Florida ClassicThe Calvin women’s golf team finished the two-day Carthage Central Florida Classic in third place. The Knights shot a combined round score of 374 on Wednesday to finish the week at 740 strokes. Carthage won the event at 632 strokes, with Hope finishing in second place.
Women’s Tennis Torches Grinnell and Lawrence on TuesdayThe Calvin women’s tennis team improved to 5-3 on the year with a pair of victories in Florida on Tuesday. The Knights started the day with a 6-3 victory over Grinnell and closed the day with an 8-1 victory over Lawrence.
Men’s Tennis Smashes Lawrence, 7-2The Calvin men’s tennis team improved to 8-1 on the year with a 7-2 victory over Lawrence on Tuesday. Lawrence falls to 4-6 on the season.
Softball Edged by No. 19 Whitewater and BowdoinThe Calvin softball team dropped a pair of tough contests on Tuesday afternoon under the Florida sun. The Knights fell in extras to No. 19 Wisconsin-Whitewater, 11-9, and closed the day with a 12-4 loss to Bowdoin. Calvin is now 6-4 on the year.

Amherst Claims Women’s Basketball Crown over Tufts at CalvinFor the first time in NCAA Division III men’s or women’s basketball history, two conference opponents met in the championship game. On Saturday night, in the third meeting of the season between the two New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rivals, Amherst College and Tufts University battled for the 2017 Division III women’s basketball title.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes 12th at NCAA ChampionshipsThe Calvin women’s swimming & diving team finished the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday night. Calvin finished in 12th place with 92.5 points. The Knights scored on all four days of the championships. Emory claimed the title with 645.5 points. The 12th place finish is the highest finish for Calvin since 2009, when the Knights finished in seventh place with 171 points.
Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes 37th at NCAA ChampionshipsThe Calvin men’s swimming & diving team finished the 2017 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday. The Knights finished in 37th place with 12 points. Calvin scored all 12 points on Wednesday in the 200-yard medley relay that placed 11th. Emory claimed the 2017 crown with 438 points. Calvin has now scored points in the last four championships.
Softball Sweeps Saturday on Spring BreakThe Calvin softball team picked up two victories on Saturday on the first day of the PFX Spring Games. The Knights started the day with a 5-1 victory over Allegheny. Calvin closed the day with a thrilling 14-13 victory over Ohio Wesleyan. The Maroon and Gold are now 5-1 on the year.
Women’s Lacrosse Falls to WoosterThe Calvin women’s lacrosse team opened its spring break schedule on Saturday morning. The Knights fell to Wooster, 17-11. Calvin is now 1-3 on the year and Wooster moves to 4-1 on the season.
Hockey Advances to ACHA National Title GameThe Calvin men’s hockey team punched its ticket to the 2017 ACHA Division III National Championship, coming back in the third period to defeat Florida Gulf Coast University 3-2 on Friday night. On Saturday night, the Knights will meet a familiar opponent, Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) rival Aquinas College (33-5-1), who defeated Bryn Athyn in the other semifinal by a score of 4-2.
Tufts Rallies in Semifinal Game to Down St. ThomasThe Tufts University Jumbos handed the University of St. Thomas its first loss of the season in Friday evening’s NCAA Division III Tournament Semifinal game, defeating the Tommies 60-57 to earn a spot in championship game.
