Women’s Basketball Trio Earns All-MIAA HonorsThe Calvin women’s basketball team landed three All-MIAA selections on Thursday. The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association named Anna Timmer and Ali Spayde to the All-MIAA First Team and Bre Luurtsema to the All-MIAA Second Team.
Cam Denney Named to All-MIAA Second TeamThe Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association named Cam Denney to the Men’s Basketball All-MIAA Second Team. This is the first time in his career that Denney was named to an All-MIAA Team.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Claims Seven All-MIAA SelectionsSeven members of the Calvin swimming & diving team received All-MIAA honors on Tuesday afternoon. Calvin won its 13th straight MIAA title on Saturday at the Holland Community Aquatic Center with 868 points, 181 points ahead of Hope in second place.
Calvin Softball Excited to Start 2017 SeasonThe Calvin softball team opens the 2017 season in Marquette, Michigan on Friday evening. Calvin is under the direction of first-year head coach Becky Hilgert. The Knights posted a 23-13 record in 2016 and finished tied for fourth place in the MIAA at 9-7.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Claims 13th Straight MIAA CrownFor the 13th-straight year and for the 15th time in program history, the Calvin women’s swimming & diving team won the MIAA title on Saturday evening at the Holland Community Aquatic Center. The Knights finished the four-day competition with 868 points. Calvin won three events on Friday and nine events at the Championships. Hope was in second place with 687 points. Calvin also finished the meet with the Most Valuable Swimmer in junior Abby Van Harn (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and Most Valuable Diver with junior Sarah Bradley (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North).
Women’s Tennis Edges Aquinas, 5-4The Calvin women’s tennis team improved to 2-0 on the year with a 5-4 victory at Aquinas on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fall to 0-1 on the season.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Friday at MIAA Championships in FirstThe Calvin women’s swimming and diving team remained in first place after the third day of the four-day MIAA Championships at the Holland Community Aquatic Center. The Knights recorded one victory on Friday to finish the day with 571 points. Kalamazoo passed the Flying Dutch to take second place at 458 points; Hope is in third place at 426 points.

Women’s Basketball Bounces Brits on Senior DayThe Calvin women’s basketball team wrapped up its regular season on Wednesday evening when it welcomed the Albion Britons to Van Noord Arena. In the first meeting of the year between the two teams, the Knights took home a 63-58 win at Albion’s Kresge Gymnasium.
Softball Picked Fourth in MIAA Preseason PollThe Calvin softball team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2017 MIAA preseason coaches' poll. The Knights received 39 total points. Defending MIAA Champion, Alma earned eight first-place votes to earn 64 points.
Jenna Dyksen Claims MIAA Field Athlete of the Week HonorsFor the second-straight week, Jenna Dyksen has claimed a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association weekly honor. This week, Dyksen earned MIAA Field Athlete of the Week honors, after being the MIAA Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 8. This is the third time in her career she has been named the Athlete of the Week.
David Brown Named MIAA Player of the WeekDavid Brown picked up Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week honors on Monday for matches through Feb. 12. This is the first time in his career that Brown has claimed the honor.
Men’s Tennis Starts 2017 Downing Augustana and ConcordiaThe men’s tennis team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday at the Huizenga Tennis & Track Center. The Knights started the day with an 8-1 victory over Augustana and swept Concordia 9-0 to close the day. Calvin is now 2-0 on the year, Augustana defeated Concordia 9-0 to improve to 2-3 and Concordia falls to 1-5 on the season.
Calvin Athletics Joins “It’s On Us” CampaignDuring halftime of the Calvin men’s basketball game against Kalamazoo College, the Calvin “It’s On Us” video was premiered. Members of Calvin’s SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) appear in the video, along with Calvin President Dr. Michael Le Roy.
Men’s Tennis Starts 2017 CampaignThe Calvin men's tennis team starts the 2017 season this Saturday against Augustana and Concordia (Mich.). The Knights are coming off an 11-6 campaign in 2016, where Calvin recorded a third-place finish in the MIAA at 4-3. Leading the Knights, in his 14th season is head coach John Ross.
